The team at Healthy Kids Association approached Fresco to redesign their Canteen Collections recipe book which is a collection of recipes, tips, ideas and case studies from NSW School Canteens. The latest recipe book was re-concepted to illustrate a food journey “Around the World in 20 Plates”. The goal was to use these recipes to celebrate cultural days, Harmony Day, fundraising or if it fits on the canteen menu, make it a standard item. We wanted to invoke a love of cooking these dishes into the design! Fresco used food photography in conjunction with etchings of specific ingredients and organic overlayed pastel shapes along with some fun typography and graphic elements on textured backgrounds to bring the idea to life, to add value to the fresh recipe ideas and for school staff to keep for future reference. More recently, Fresco worked with Healthy Kids on a brand new initiative “For The Love Of Veg” which aims to transform Australian children’s and their families’ attitudes and dietary habits to gain a lifelong love of vegetables. Deliverables included logo, stylesheet (or mini style guide), brochure template and assorted web banners.
